Wiersma Twins To Transfer

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Twin sisters Chassie and Cherrith Wiersma have made a decision to leave the Oregon State women's basketball program and they have been given their official release from OSU, it was announced Tuesday by Director of Athletics Mitch Barnhart.
Chassie and Cherrith, sophomores from Crater High School in Central Point, were two-year starters for the Beavers. Chassie, a shooting guard, started 50 of 56 games for Oregon State and scored 371 points (6.6 average), collected 208 rebounds (3.7) and had 101 assists and 73 steals. She scored 200 points (6.9 average) in 1999-00.
Cherrith, starting point guard, started 57 of 57 games during her Beaver career and scored 248 points (4.4 average). She had 124 rebounds, 148 assists and 71 steals.
