No. 24 Men's Golf In Fourth At U.S. Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - - John Lepak led the No. 24 Oregon State men's golf team into fourth place after two rounds with his 1-under-par performance on Saturday at the U.S. Intercollegiate.
Lepak, who was recently selected to the All-Pac-10 Second Team, shot 70-71--141 at the par 71 Stanford Golf Course as he played his way into fourth place, just three strokes behind first-place Michael Beard of Pepperdine. Lepak has five top-ten finishes this year, including a third-place finish at the Pacific-10 Championships Apr. 24-26.
Anthony Arvidson, an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 golfer this year, tied his season low with a 68 in the first round, which he followed up with a 75 for a 1-over 143 and a tie for seventh.
The Beavers got another strong performance from Pac-10 runner-up Tim Mickelson, who is in 20th place after shooting a 146. Mickelson, who earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors on Friday as well, is gunning for his sixth top-20 finish of the season.
Bryan Geiberger is 95th at 163.
In the team competition, Pepperdine built a slim four-stroke lead over California after ringing up a 571. Stanford, the tournament host, holds a six-shot lead over the Beavers heading into Sunday's final 18 holes.
