Three Beavers Earn All-Pac-10 Recognition In Softball

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State senior Tarrah Beyster was named first team All-Pacific-10 Conference for the fourth time in four years, while two other OSU softball players earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 recognition, the league office announced Friday.
Junior shortstop Shawna Feldt earned honorable mention recognition for the second year in a row, while freshman second baseman Brynnen Guthrie also garnered honorable mention accolades.
Beyster, a pitcher/designated player, currently leads the Beavers with a .437 batting average, good for fourth in the Pac-10 and ninth in the nation. She has 14 home runs and 41 RBI this season, both school records. As a pitcher, she has a 24-11 record with a 2.61 ERA. Beyster has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week twice this year.
Feldt is batting .307 for the year, which ranks fourth on the team. She leads OSU with 59 hits and is second in runs scored (27) and doubles (10). She also has hit two home runs and has 18 RBI. Feldt ranks second on the team with seven stolen bases as well.
Guthrie carries a .370 batting average to rank second on the team. The rookie has 37 hits, including seven doubles and one triple. Guthrie has scored 18 times and has six RBI. She also has five stolen bases on the year.
Stanford's Jessica Mendoza was voted the Pacific-10 Player of the Year, while Washington's Jennifer Spediacci was named Pitcher of the Year. Arizona's Mike Candrea and UW's Teresa Wilson were selected as Co-Coaches of the Year.
