Ten OSU Wrestlers Earn All-America Honors at University Nationals

EVANSTON, Ill. - Andy Bowlby was the runner-up in the Greco-Roman heavyweight competition to lead Oregon State's Orange Crush Mat Club to third place in the University Nationals wrestling meet April 7-9 at Northwestern University. Beaver wrestlers earned 10 All-America finishes in the Greco-Roman and Freestyle competitions, which included the nation's best wrestlers age 24 and under.
Seven OSU wrestlers earned All-America honors in the Greco-Roman meet to help the Orange Crush finish third in the team standings behind the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps squads. Bowlby reached the finals of the heavyweight division before losing to Josh Etu of the New York Athletic Club by fall in 2 minutes.
Other Oregon State wrestlers placing in the Greco-Roman meet were Nathan Coy, fourth at 167.5 pounds, Shane Cunanan, sixth at 138.5 pounds, John Winters, sixth at 213 pounds, Wesley Balensifer, seventh at 213 pounds, Casey Horn, seventh at 138.5 pounds, and Nathan Navarro, eighth at 127 pounds.
In the Freestyle meet, Coy was third at 167.5 pounds, Eric Jorgensen was fourth at 152 pounds, and Cunanan was eighth at 138.5 pounds.
