Three Men's Basketball Student-Athletes Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Teams

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University men's basketball student-athletes Jason Heide and Josh Steinthal have been named to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic first team, it was announced Tuesday by conference Commissioner Tom Hansen. Teammate Ramunas Petraitis earned second team acclaim.
Heide boasts a 3.04 cumulative GPA in business administration. The junior center from Issaquah, Wash., averaged 10.7 points and 5.0 rebounds during an injury plagued season. Heide was a second team member last season.
Steinthal, from Sumner, Wash., has a 3.08 cumulative GPA in business. The junior guard averaged 9.0 points and shot .399 from three-point range for the season. He averaged 14.0 points over the final seven games.
Petraitis, a senior guard, ended his OSU career averaging 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds. The Kaunus, Lithuania native has a GPA of 3.02 in business.
Oregon State, Stanford, and California each placed a league-high three student-athletes on the academic teams - OSU was the only school with two first team honorees. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor. True-freshmen are ineligible.
