Tarrah Beyster Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State's Tarrah Beyster has been named the Pacific-10 Softball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 23-29, the league announced Tuesday.
Beyster, a senior, was named the Most Valuable Player at last week's Troy Cox Classic after leading the 12th-ranked Beavers (13-4-1) to a 6-0 record to claim the tournament title. Beyster hit .429 (6-for-14) for the week and led OSU with 10 RBI, six runs and four home runs. She hit .545 with runners in scoring position and was an impressive .714 with two outs. One of her four home runs came in the championship game against No. 8 California, a game that was Cal's first loss of the season.
In addition, Beyster was 3-0 with a save at the tournament. In 23 innings of work, she posted 21 strikeouts with just four walks and finished with a 2.13 ERA.
Beyster has earned weekly honors from the Pacific-10 office six times in her career, she has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week four times and has earned Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honors twice.
