Deaundra Tanner Earns District 14 Honor

Stanford, Cal - Oregon State University junior guard Deaundra Tanner has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches/Oldsmobile Division I District 14 Second Team, it was announced Tuesday.
Tanner leads the Beavers in scoring at 13.8 points per game (14th in Pac-10), in assists at 5.1 (2nd), in steals at 2.0 (6th), and three-point field goal percentage at .409 (7th). Tanner is also the team leader for free throw shooting at .788, and adds 3.7 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game.
The Inglewood, Cal., native was a first team all-district and All-Pacific-10 Conference selection last season. Tanner also has moved into a tie for 23rd for career scoring at OSU with 1,042 points, third for career three-point field goals with 140, and eighth for career steals with 145.
Tanner's fellow second team members include A.D. Smith and Alex Scales of Oregon, Deon Luton of Washington, and Kenyon Jones of San Francisco. The first team consists of Casey Jacobsen and Mark Madsen of Stanford, Sean Lampley of California, and Richie Frahm and Matt Santangelo of Gonzaga.
