Beavers blank Western Baptist, 10-0

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Fredrik Kummernes and Josh McCarty scored two goals each Thursday afternoon as Oregon State blanked Western Baptist 10-0 in a mens soccer exhibition game on Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium. The contest does not count in either teams record; OSU opens the regular season at the Washington Tournament on Sept. 11-13, meeting San Diego and Loyola Marymount.
The Beavers 10 goals against Western Baptist would have been a new single-game school record for OSU if the game were a counting contest. J.P. Capodanno had one goal and two assists for the Beavers while James Albert had one goal and one assist.
Jack Wheeler, Matt Olsen, Daniel Angelo and Nick Jensen had one goal each for Oregon State. OSU also got assists from Greg Howes, Scott Tedder and Stephen Jauernig.
