Golf Teams Ranked in Top-25

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University mens and womens golf teams are ranked in the Golfweek/Taylor Made national top 30, in a poll released Nov. 15. The men are No. 26, while the women moved up 15 spots to co-No. 10.
The mens team concluded their five tournament fall schedule finishing seventh or better in every event. The team captured the final tournament of the fall, the Wolf Pack Classic near Reno, Nev. Junior Dustin Wayne led the club in scoring at 71.9 strokes per round, while true-freshman John Lepak averaged 72.1. Both players had tree top 10 finishes. Six of the 10 Pacific-10 Conference schools are ranked in top 30.
The womens team shares the No. 10 ranking with conference rival Stanford. The team finished in the top-10 in five of their six fall tournaments, including capturing the team title at the Texas Tech Jeannine McHaney Memorial. Kathleen Takaishi, who had a pair of runner-up finishes, led the team with a 74.6 average. Anjeanette Dabbs, who had two top-5 finishes, is second for the team for scoring at 75.4. Five conference institutions are included in the top-10.
The mens and womens team will return to action at the Ping Arizona Invitational, Feb 1-2 and Feb. 22-24, respectively.
