Crew Teams Nationally Ranked

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University mens and womens varsity eight crew teams are ranked in the inaugural 1999 USRowing National Collegiate Rowing Coaches Poll, it was announced Wednesday in Indianapolis.
The Beaver womens varsity eight, which placed eighth in the Whittier Cup last week in San Diego, is No. 13. The top-20 also includes Pac-10 Conference rivals No. 1 Washington, No. 4 California and No. 5 USC. The Huskies received all 19 first-place votes.
The Oregon State mens varsity eight, which finished eighth at last weeks Copley Cup on Mission Bay, is No. 18. Three other conference members are among the top-20, including No. 1 California, No. 3 Washington and No. 19 Stanford. The Bears received all nine first-place votes.
The mens and womens crew teams will return to action April 10 in Vancouver, Wash., the men are hosting Western Washington and the womens are hosting California.
