BRYAN JONES ON A ROLL: Senior weakside linebacker Bryan Jones is having a fantastic season...he was a one-man wrecking crew on defense in OSU's first five games...Bryan had his lowest point output of the season at Stanford with only three solo tackles for nine points...he followed that up with 15 points vs. Arizona...Bryan has been the Beavers' top defensive point producer in three of the seven games and he was second (USC) and third at Utah State in point defensive production...Bryan leads the Beavers with a total of 239 defensive points, which is 42 points higher than his next teammate, Jamil Braithwaite's 197...Bryan is ninth in the Pac-10 in tackles for loss with nine and is tied for 11th with teammate Shawn Ball with 3 1/2 sacks...he is fifth in the Pac-10 in total tackles with 60...Bryan had 33 points at ASU with 11 tackles, a quarterback sack and two passes broken up...Bryan posted 63 points in the Beavers' victory over Nevada, which amounts to the ninth best single-game effort on defense in OSU history...he followed that up with a team high 54 points vs. Baylor...in those two games, Bryan posted a team high 16 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles for 24 total, plus he had two sacks, four tackles for loss, one caused fumble, one blocked field goal, one pass broken up, one interception and one quarterback hurry...his interception came against Baylor with 1:25 remaining in the second quarter, which set up OSU's third touchdown and gave the Beavers a 21-3 halftime lead over Baylor...he caused a fumble in the Nevada game that led to Toalei Talataina picking up the fumble and racing 60 yards for a touchdown....he blocked a field goal in the Nevada game...(Utah State) In the Utah State game, Bryan produced 30 points with 9 tackles and 2 1/2 tackles for loss and 1/2 sack...(USC) Bryan was second in defensive points at USC with 35 points, coming on 8 tackles, 2 passes broken up and a tackle for loss...Bryan has started a team high 30 straight games for OSU and has played in a total of 40 games...he has been the high-point defensive producer in five career games...he has a career defensive point total of 795 points, including 19 passes broken up, 11 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, 2 pass interceptions and 6 quarterback hurry plays...his 795 points puts him 11th on the Beavers' career list...his next stop is No. 10 Marc Williams' 814 points and No. 9 Lavance Northington's 827 points. RODDY TOMPKINS: For only the fifth time in his 29-game career (all starts) at Oregon State, Roddy failed to catch a pass in a game (Arizona) and was completely blanked statistically...Roddy has caught a pass in 24 of those games for the Beavers...he caught 2 passes for 46 yards at Stanford, which pushed his career reception total at OSU to 79 and moves him into 12th place on the Beavers' career list...at Utah State he caught 2 passes for 14 yards...Roddy posted his best performance of the season at Arizona State with 8 receptions for 77 yards...he opened the 1998 season with 3 receptions against Nevada and followed with 1 catch against Baylor, a 14-yard touchdown, and 2 receptions at USC for 9 yards...he also caught a TD pass against Baylor as a freshman in 1996...he currently has 79 receptions and 1,178 all-purpose yards in his career...he ranks 12th on OSU's career reception list...two more receptions moves him into 11th place...Roddy's best individual game came last year with 10 receptions vs. UCLA.

TICKETS: The Oregon State-Oregon Civil War game is sold out. Reserve seat tickets are priced at $22.00. General admission tickets are priced at $15.00, and are located in the East grandstand and both end zones. Single game GA and reserve seat tickets can be purchased in advance for the California and UCLA games. In addition, Bi-Mart stores in Oregon have coupons (one ticket per coupon) that can be redeemed at Parker Stadium for 1/2 off the price of a general admission ticket. The OSU Athletic Ticket Office, room 107 Gill Coliseum, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number is 541-737-4455 or 1-800-GO BEAVS. Tickets can also be purchased over the Beavers' website at osu.beavers.com. Tickets are also available through all Ticket Master locations in Oregon. Parker stadium ticket booths open at 9:00 a.m. on game days. Parker Stadium gates open at 11:30 a.m. on game days.
RILEY RADIO TALK SHOW: The Mike Riley radio talk show originates in Corvallis during the season over KLOO (1340 AM) from 7 to 8 p.m. each Thursday during the season, with Nate Lundy, KLOO sports director, serving as host. The Riley talk show will air live from the Pavilion Restaurant in Corvallis.
BEAVER HUDDLE/BEAVER CLUB MEETING SCHEDULES: The following is this year's schedule for Albany, Corvallis, Eugene, Portland, Salem and Woodburn chapters of Beaver Huddle or Beaver Club meeting schedules. Albany Beaver Club meets at 7:00 a.m. on selected Thursday's at Springhill Country Club. The next Albany meeting will be on November 5, with additional meetings on Nov. 19. Corvallis meets every Monday noon at the Valley Football Center. The Lane County Beaver Club chapter meets on the second Monday of each Month at 11:45 a.m. at the Oregon Electric Station. Portland Beaver Club meets every Monday noon at the Multnomah Athletic Club. Mike Riley will appear on the following dates in Portland--Oct. 26 and Nov. 16. Salem Beaver Huddle meets every Wednesday noon at the Salem Golf Club. The Woodburn chapter of Beaver Club meets at 6:00 p.m. at Yun Wah Restaurant on, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18.

BEAVER GAME DAY PROMOTIONS
FAN FAIR 1998: Oregon State's Fan Fair 1998 starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, which is open to fans of all ages. Activity tickets are priced at $1 each or 6 for $5. Here is a sample of what will be available on Saturday: Marriott Food Court; Reser's Passing Contest*; Coca-Cola Kicking Game*; Face Painter*; Race Car Alley*; Pizza Hut Basketball Shoot* and Dunk Tank*. There will also be a Beaver Den sports grill and hospitality tent, which is open to the public. OSU radio play-by-play announcer Darrell Aune will start his pregame radio show from the Fan Fair 1998 area at 11:00 a.m. *Indicates activity ticket required.
ALUMNI ACTIVITIES: The OSU Alumni Association will hold home football Tailgaters at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center, which is open to the public, starting at two hours prior to kickoff. The Alumni Tailgaters will feature a buffet style lunch in the main ballroom and courtyard patio area, priced at $6.50. Beverages are available for purchase. The Alumni Tailgaters will also feature live music, OSU cheerleaders and Benny Beaver, entertainment, OSU merchandise for purchase and big-screen cable sports broadcasts. The Alumni center also opens once again at halftime and stays open for postgame activities, including Coach Mike Riley's postgame radio show. The Alumni Tailgatger also has food and beverages available for postgame activities.
