Women's soccer wraps up spring
April 29, 1999
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State womens soccer coach Steve Fennah pronounced himself pleased with the results when the Beavers wrapped up their spring season last weekend.
"It was a positive time for our program," Fennah said. "We certainly established some good work ethics away from the field, and that was important for us as we move forward. We have to increase our levels in all areas, and one was training habits, and we got some real positive things there."
The five-game schedule provided a mixed bag of results.
"We had good performances and disappointments," Fennah said. "The high point was our first-ever win over our close rival, Oregon. But we also had other good performances against Portland, Humboldt State and Washington State."
Fennah was especially pleased with the performances of goalkeeper Elizabeth Pease, midfielder Coral Slater and the Beaver defensive line as OSU moves to a flatback-four system.
