Women's Basketball Falls to Arizona 66-53

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Four Wildcats scored in double-figures as the Arizona women's basketball team came through with a 66-53 win over Oregon State at Gill Coliseum on Friday night.
Angela Lackey turned in a game-high 18 points to lead Arizona (14-8) to the victory over the Beavers (11-12).
Tammy Arnold led OSU with 14 points off the bench, and Felicia Ragland scored 10 points for the Beavers. Sissel Pierce just missed a double-double, with a game-high nine rebounds to go along with eight points. Pierce also had three blocks.
Lisa Griffith added 15 points for UA, and Felicity Willis scored 12 points. Griffith also tallied six steals and five assists.
OSU jumped out to 16-8 lead, but the Wildcats rallied to tie the score at 16-16 with 8:27 left to go in the first half. Arizona broke away from the tie with an 18-5 run to end the first half and head into the locker room with a 34-21 advantage.
Oregon State edged back within six points with 6:38 left in the game after a 7-0 run, sparked by a three-pointer from Ragland and two-point field goals from Arnold and Reda Kakeranaite.
Arizona took a 20-second timeout and came back from the break to outscore the Beavers, 14-7, in the final 5:26 of the game.
