Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at Ping/Arizona State Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz - Anjeanette Dabbs shot a final round 2-over-par 74 to help the No. 18 Oregon State women's golf team to a final round 303 and finish ninth at the Ping/Arizona State Invitational. The Beavers finished the 54-hole tournament at the Karsten Golf Course with a score of 921.
Dabbs round of 74 was the best by a Beaver in the tournament, and upped her to a 27th place finish overall. Teammate Anne Brooksby shot her third consecutive 76 to finish tied for 28th at 12-over 228.
"We played much better overall today, and that's attributed to our short game play," Beaver Head Coach Rise' Lakowske said. "I'm fairly satisfied with a ninth-place finish in a field this strong."
The rest of the Oregon State scores include Carina Olsson tied for 49th at 234; Kathleen Takaishi, who is nursing a foot injury, tied for 57th at 235; and Rachel Borcherts tied for 68th at 239.
Kellee Booth of Arizona State and Hilary Homeyer of Stanford tied for the individual crown at 1-under-par 215. Stanford captured the team title by six shots with a score of 872.
The next action for Oregon State will be April 11-12 at the California Collegiate.
