Women's Basketball Defeats Montana

MISSOULA, Mont. - Oregon State's women's basketball team ended Montana's 15-game home winning streak as the Beavers posted a 61-48 victory over the Lady Griz Thursday evening.
OSU came back from a 26-25 halftime deficit to pull away from Montana in the second half. Freshman Cherrith Wiersma hit a three-pointer just 10 seconds into the second half, and the Beavers never trailed after that.
Three OSU players finished the game with double-figure scoring. Junior Vanessa Morris had a team-high 13 points, while freshmen Ericka Brosterhous and Chassie Wiersma each added 10 points.
The Beavers shot .444 from the field and hit six of nine from three-point range. They were also seven of nine from the free throw line.
OSU outrebounded the Lady Griz, 39-29, with junior Sissel Pierce pulling down a team-best 13 boards for the Beavers. Pierce also had four blocks on the evening.
