Women's Golf Climbs into a Fourth-Place Tie at Texas

Austin, Texas -- The No. 25 Oregon State womens golf team shot a second round 320 and has moved into a tie for fourth place at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic. OSUs 36-hole total of 637 tied it with Oklahoma.
Kathleen Takaishi fired a 4-over-par 76 Saturday, the second best round for the day to help the Beavers. Takaishi is now tied for 11th at 12-over 156. Teammate Rachel Borcherts is tied for ninth at 155 after a 77.
"We played better as a team today," Beaver Head Coach Rise Lakowske said. "We have the potential to move up in the standings in the final round, but there is some doubt we will be to play to due to thunderstorms in the forecast."
The rest of the Beaver contingent includes Anne Brooksby tied for 26th at 162; Erin Borcherts is tied for 30th at 164; and Reena Eklund is at 177.
Kristen Dufour of the host Texas Longhorns is at 2-over 146 and has a six shot lead over her nearest pursuer, Stefanie Michell of Missouri. Texas has a commanding team lead at 603, 24 shots in front of Missouri.
The tournament is being held at the Great Hills Golf Club.
