OSU wrestling, swimming meet changes
January 20, 1999
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The starting times for some Oregon State wrestling and swimming meets have been changed from the original schedules.
OSU's wrestling dual meets this Friday at Portland Memorial Coliseum have been moved back a bit. The 18th-ranked Beavers will wrestle Southern Oregon at 6:30 p.m., then meet 10th-ranked Nebraska at 8:15 p.m.
The meets are being held in conjunction with the Oregon Wrestling Classic, which takes place Friday and Saturday. Daily admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students, with children under age 5 being admitted free.
The Oregon Wrestling Classic includes an open collegiate tournament on Saturday; several OSU wrestlers not in the weekends dual meet lineup will compete then. The tourney also includes the high school dual meet state championships, plus competition for women, boys and girls.
After the trip to Portland, Oregon State will return home to wrestle Wyoming in a non-conference dual meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gill Coliseum.
Oregon State has changed the start time for its womens swimming meet against Washington State on Feb. 6; the meet will begin at 11 a.m. at Osborn Aquatic Center. The starting time for the OSU-WSU dual meet on Feb. 5 remains 7 p.m.
Also, Oregon State will not be swimming a meet in January. The Beavers had originally hoped to add a meet to their schedule during the month.
