Beavers beat Concordia in non-counters

Oregon States mens and womens soccer teams both defeated Concordia University in exhibition soccer contests on Tuesday afternoon. The OSU men blanked the Cavaliers 4-0 in Portland, while the Oregon State women shut out Concordia 6-0 in Corvallis in games that will not count on the Beavers records.
The Beaver men got two goals from James Albert and three assists by Fredrik Kummernes, while Matt Olsen and Ben Roth added a goal apiece for OSU. Oregon States men will play one more exhibition before starting the regular season, returning home to Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium to meet Western Baptist at 4 p.m. Thursday.
For OSUs women, Jona Maukonen scored a hat trick with three goals. Leila Kaady tacked on one goal and two assists, while Coral Slater and Rebecca Remmel each scored a goal and the Beavers also got assists from BreeAnna Jolin, Kara Moody, Ann Marie Fallow and Jen VanderArend. Oregon States women will open the regular season this weekend at the Cal State-Fullerton Tournament, meeting Cal-Irvine at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Cal State-Fullerton at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
