Women's Golf Ninth after One Round of Pac-10 Championships

Corvallis, Ore. - Freshman Erin Borcherts shot an opening round 3-over 75, and her sister Rachel fired a 76, as the Oregon State University womens golf team opened with a round of 313 at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships. The three-day 54-hole event is being held at the Stanford Golf Course.
The No. 25 Beavers opening round of 25-over par places them in ninth place, 22 shots behind team leader and host No. 10 Stanford. No. 5 USC is second, five shots back of Stanford, at 296.
The Trojans Leila Chartrand shot an opening round 2-under 70 to take the first round lead. Hilary Homeyer of Stanford is second after a 71.
The rest of the Oregon State scores include Anne Brooksby tied for 41st at 80, Reena Eklund is 46th at 82, and Kathleen Takaishi is tied for 47th after an 83. OSUs Brandi Seymour is playing, but not counting toward the team total, she is tied for 57th at 89.
The second of two rounds is Saturday.
