Women's Golf in Sixth Place at the Lady Gamecock Classic

Blythewood, SC - The No. 15 Oregon State women's golf team shot an opening round 313, and is in sixth place after one round of the Lady Gamecock Classic. The 54-hole event is being led by No. 11 Tennessee at 306.
Andrea Hehn paced OSU in the first round with a 3-over-par 75. Hehn shot a 39 on the front nine, followed by a 38. Hehn, who is bidding for her fourth top-10 finish this season, is tied for fifth. Other Oregon State scores include Kathleen Takaishi tied for 17th with a 78, Carina Olsson is tied for 21st with a 79, Anjeanette Dabbs is tied for 33rd with a 81, and Anne Brooksby is tied for 47th with a 83.
"We played pretty well today overall," OSU Assistant Coach Charles Kingsbaker said. "This is a tough course and a tough field, but I think we are in good position to climb the leaderboard in the second round."
Emma Lofgren of South Carolina leads the tournament after a 1-under-71.
The tournament, which is being held at The University Club, runs through Sunday.
