Football Media Guide Selected for Award

CORVALLIS - The 1998 Oregon State football media guide, which was written and edited by Hal Cowan, the Beavers' sports information director, has received national recognition.
The 1998 OSU football media guide was selected as the fifth best publication in the nation among 112 Division 1A football schools, and the No. 1 publication among district 8 schools, which includes the states of Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Alaska, Utah and Idaho.
The selection was announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) with a panel of media representatives serving as judges.
Cowan has now won a total of 19 national awards for various sports media guides he has written and edited.
