John Lepak Named Pac-10 Conference Men's Golf Freshman of the Year

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University mens golfer John Lepak has been selected to the seven-member All-Pacific-10 Conference First Team, it was announced Friday. In addition, Lepak was named the conferences Freshman of the Year.
Lepak, a true-freshman from La Habra Heights, Cal., has led the team in scoring this season at 72.6 per round. He is ranked No. 37 in the nation in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. For the season, Lepak has six top-10 finishes and won the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in March. Lepak is only the second Beaver to ever earn first team honors, joining 1996 honoree Birk Nelson.
Lepaks teammate Dustin Wayne earned honorable mention All-Pac-10. The junior from Alameda, Cal., has averaged 74.0 per round this season and has four top-10 placings.
Joel Kribel of Stanford was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year. Randy Lein of Arizona State and O.D. Vincent of Washington were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
