Beyster Named to Softball Academic All-District Team

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Sophomore Tarrah Beyster has been named to the 1998 GTE/CoSIDA District VIII Womens Softball Academic All-America Team.
Beyster, a pitcher with a 3.69 cumulative grade point average in psychology, is now up for consideration for national Academic All-America honors.
Beyster led the Beavers with a 1.40 ERA and 21-16 record on the mound, while collecting a .391 batting average, 12 home runs, 29 RBI and 20 runs scored to lead Oregon State offensively.
In order to be considered for Academic All-America honors, athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must be a starter or significant reserve and must be in at least their second season at their current school. The national team will be released Tuesday, June 4.
