Crew Teams Escalate in Poll

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University mens and womens varsity eight crews have moved up one position in the USRowing National Collegiate Rowing Coaches Poll, it was released Wednesday.
The mens varsity eight moved from No. 18 to No. 17. The crew is coming off a 14 second victory over Western Washington in Vancouver last Saturday. Oregon State is one of four Pac-10 crews in the top 20. The Beavers are joined by No. 1 California, No. 3 Washington and No. 20 Stanford.
The womens varsity eight has improved to No. 12, from the previous No. 13. The crew lost to No. 4 California last Saturday in Vancouver, and defeated Western Washington. Three others crews from the Pac-10 are among the top-20, including No. 1 Washington, No. 5 USC and No. 10 Washington State.
The crews have this week off from competition, before returning to the water against Stanford April 24 at Redwood Shores, Cal.
