Gymnastics Ranked No. 15 in Preseason Coaches Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State gymnastics team is ranked No. 15 in the preseason coaches poll, based on rankings released Thursday. Nine of the Beavers 1999 opponents are also among the preseason top 25, with five ranked in the top 10.
Defending national champion Georgia is the preseason No. 1, earning 32 of 38 first-place votes. Florida was picked second, followed by UCLA and Utah.
Oregon State will host three of the preseason top 10 selections, with UCLA, Utah and No. 6 Arizona State all heading to Corvallis this season. No. 24 Michigan State also will travel to Corvallis to face the Beavers.
OSU will compete at No. 8 Washington, No. 10 Stanford, No. 11 Nebraska, No. 16 Arizona and No. 19 Boise State.
The Beavers open the 1999 season at Arizona at 6:30 p.m. PST on Friday, January 15. OSUs first home meet is the Cellular One Season Opener against UCLA at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 22.
