Beavers Picked to Win Pac-12

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's soccer team has been voted first in the Pac-12 Conference preseason poll, the conference office announced Tuesday. Additionally, Jacob Zapien, Wyatt Borso and Aidan Marquez have been selected to the Pac-12 Impact List.
The Beavers went 10-5-2 last season and made the NCAA Tournament in their first season under Wicks-Street Head Coach Jarred Brookins. OSU enters the 2026 season ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
Zapien is in his second season as a team captain. The centerback played the full 90 minutes in 10 matches last season. Borso scored five goals last season at Notre Dame, leading the team. Marquez made three starts for the Beavers last season and appeared in 11 matches.
This season will mark the return of Oregon State to the Pac-12 conference. As part of a the Pac-12 - Big West soccer partnership, Cal Baptist, Cal Poly, UC Riverside and UC San Diego will join Oregon State, Gonzaga and San Diego State in the Pac-12 for men's soccer. The Beavers will also play three "Big West Crossover" matches as part of this arrangement, facing Sacramento State, Cal State Bakersfield and Utah Valley.
Oregon State will open the season Thursday at UC Irvine.
