Beavs Close Dual Meet Weekend

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State wrapped up one of its last conference competitions with another strong weekend of competition at the Oregon Twilight in Eugene and the Portland Twilight, highlighted by personal bests in the middle distances and a program top-five mark from Bea Pettersson in the hammer throw.
Friday at the Oregon Twilight began in the field events, where Kaylen Rabalais placed second in the javelin with a throw of 42.75m/140-3. Claire Lee added a fourth-place finish in the pole vault at 3.77m/12-4.5, narrowly missing her personal best, while Maddy Juhler recorded a season best of 3.52m/11-6.5.
Pettersson delivered one of the top performances of the meet in the hammer throw, placing second with a personal-best mark of 57.53m/188-9. The throw improved her standing to No. 4 all-time in Oregon State history. She also added a fifth-place finish in the shot put at 14.08m/46-2.5.
In the jumps, Dede Norman finished runner-up in the high jump with a clearance of 1.68m/5-6, while Kyra Bakke cleared 1.58m/5-2.25 for seventh place.
On the track, Megan Hatcher continued her consistent outdoor season with a win in the 400m hurdles at 1:00.87 and later added a 14.72 in the 100m hurdles. Ava McKee placed third in the 400 meters with a 58.54, while Riley Patera finished second in the 200 meters in 24.67. Callie Brandes also turned in a strong performance in the 100 meters, placing fifth in 12.25.
The Beavers saw several standout performances in the distance events, led by Ainsley Herron's personal-best 2:06.24 in the 800 meters. Ruby Lorenz also posted a personal best in the event at 2:14.73. In the 1,500 meters, Maya Baechler ran a personal-best 4:13.12 in the invite section, while Kate Laurent added a 4:27.36 effort.
Saturday at the Portland Twilight featured another strong showing from Oregon State's middle-distance group. Jenna O'Beirne and Maella Hodgson both recorded personal bests in the 800 meters, running 2:10.89 and 2:11.62 respectively. Delaney Ulrich added a personal-best 4:28.72 in the 1,500 meters, while Payton Smith followed with a 4:32.46 performance.
