Aklog is a four-star recruit out of Eastside Catholic High School in Washington. He is among the top 150 recruits in the nation, and earned All-State honors during the 2025-26 campaign. Aklog averaged 20.2 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.7 blocks per game during his senior season, helping his team earn a spot in the state tournament semifinals. The center led his team to a state title in 2024, finishing the championship game with 28 points and nine rebounds.
"Yabi is an extraordinary talent and one of the best high school prospects on the West Coast," Joyner said. "What makes him unique is his versatility—he's a big who can facilitate from the perimeter or the block, which is extremely rare. Beyond his skill set and IQ, he brings toughness, feel, and a great approach to the game. He has tremendous character on and off the court. Yabi has a bright future ahead of him, and we're excited to help him develop. Yabi represents the future of Oregon State basketball, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome him to Corvallis."
During the 2026 Washington state tournament, Aklog posted a massive game in Eastside Catholic's win over Liberty, finishing with 32 points and 13 rebounds.
