Beavers Fall to Cougars in Spokane

Spokane, Wash. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Washington State 81-67 Sunday evening at Numerica Veterans Arena in Spokane, Wash.
Dez White led the Beavers with 16 points, going 4-for-6 from 3-point range. Isaiah Sy hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Yaak Yaak went 4-for-6 to end his day with nine points, and Matija Samar also scored nine points.
Keziah Ekissi made his first start as a Beaver. As a team, Oregon State shot 44 percent from the floor in the contest.
The Beavers move to 8-9 on the season and 1-3 in WCC play.
Ace Glass led four Cougars in double figures with 16 points.
Washington State scored the first nine points of the game on its way to a 14-6 lead at the game's first media timeout. Oregon State chipped away at the advantage to get within two with 12 minutes left in the opening frame. The Cougars headed to the intermission in front 47-33.
The Cougars extended the lead to 21 in the second half, but back-to-back 3-pointers spurred an 8-0 run that got the Beavers back within 11 with nine minutes to play. Oregon State cut the advantage to 10 in the final five minutes, but could not get any closer as the Cougars claimed the 14-point win.
The Beavers will return to Gill Coliseum Thursday for a matchup with Seattle U.
