Beavers Fall to Gaels

MORGAGA, Calif.  – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Saint Mary's 81-51 Wednesday evening in Moraga, Calif.

Josiah Lake II led the Beavers, going 7-for-11 from the floor to finish with 17 points. Keziah Ekissi and Jorge Diaz Graham each had seven points off the bench. Johan Munch finished with six points, six rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Dez White came off the bench for the first time this season, and played just four minutes as he was limited due to injury.

Paulius Murauskas paced the Gaels with 15 points and six rebounds. Joshua Dent scored 16 points.

The two teams traded punches early on, with the Gaels leading 8-6 at the game's first media timeout. The defenses controlled the opening phase of the contest, as Saint Mary's led 16-11 mid-way through the first half.

A 7-0 Gael run gave Saint Mary's a 26-17 advantage at the under-four media break. The Beavers trailed 36-25 at the intermission.

The Gaels scored the first 10 points of the second half to bring the lead to 21. Saint Mary's would lead by as many as 32 on its way to a 30-point win.

The Beavers will hit the road again next week to take on LMU and San Diego.
