
Beavers Close High Performance With Javelin Sweep

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State closed out the OSU High Performance meet on Saturday with another stellar showing, headlined by a top-three sweep in the javelin and multiple personal bests on the track.

Sixteen Oregon State student-athletes were recognized during a Senior Day presentation midway through Saturday's competition.
Â
The javelin trio of Isabelle Esler, Maryann Ackerman, and Sara Sanders dominated the field. Esler took the win with a throw of 52.76m/173-1, followed by Ackerman at 51.25m/168-1, and Sanders rounded out the podium with a personal-best 50.37m/165-3.

In the shot put, Bea Pettersson placed second with a mark of 13.54m/44-5.25, which now ranks ninth all-time in OSU history. On the infield, Grace Proudfoot earned a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.68m/5-6.

In the 800-meter invitational section. Jillian Brown clocked a personal-best 2:06.47, the second-fastest time in program history, to place third. Maya Baechler continued her standout weekend with another personal best of 2:08.51, moving to No. 7 all-time at OSU. Ruby Broadbent followed in 2:12.65.

In the open section, Noemi Lundgren led the way with a personal-best 2:13.41, while Sage Brooks posted 2:15.05, Kate Yahn finished in 2:15.13, and Delaney Griffin with 2:16.65, all adding lifetime bests of their own. Jenna O'Beirne ran 2:17.02, and Ava McKee followed in 2:20.00.

Addison Swartzendruber raced for a personal best of 56.63 in the 400 meters to place second overall and improve her OSU #7 mark. Ruby Lorenz joined Swartzendruber in the top 10, placing 10th with a personal best of 59.03. Ava McKee raced for 1:00.32 to place 16th.

Jada Hurley wrapped her senior day with a win in the 100 meters, racing a time of 11.93. Riley Patera clocked a new personal best in the race as well, posting 12.30 for fifth.

DAY ONE RECAP
Oregon State saw nine new improvements to the all-time top 10 list on day one of their home meet.

Maddy Juhler led the charge, posting the first record of the day.

Juhler jumped to the top of OSU history with a personal-best 3.94m/12-11 clearance to win the pole vault, taking over the No. 1 spot all-time for the Beavers. The freshman improved her previous best by over a foot and a half.

Dede Norman won the long jump at 5.82m/19-1.25, a season best, with Delaney Bahn just behind at 5.80m/19-0.5. Making her collegiate hurdle debut, Megan Hatcher took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.2.

Katie Gelston claimed victory in the discus with a throw of 52.56m/172-05, putting over 17 feet between her and second place. Markayla Billings secured second in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.84m/176-7.

The Beavers dominated the 200 meters, sweeping the top three spots and setting three new all-time top-10 marks. Jada Hurley clocked a personal-best 23.95, making her No. 2 in OSU history.

Delaney Bahn clocked 24.26 (OSU #5) and Riley Patera posted 24.32 (OSU #6), following with personal bests of their own. Six other Beavers competed in the event, including a personal best from Addison Swartzendruber of 25.31 and another from Ruby Lorenz of 26.32.

The 1,500 meters featured a deep field of Beavers, both in the open and invitational sections. In the invite section, Sydney Partyka ran 4:20.86 to take third and move to No. 6 all-time at OSU, while Ruby Broadbent slotted in at No. 7 with a time of 4:21.24Â and Maya Baechler improved her mark at No. 9 to 4:23.87. Ainsley Herron rounded out the group at 4:28.19.

In the open section, Meagen Lowe and Noemi Lundgren ran 4:29.63 and 4:29.93, respectively, while Erin Cosgrove set a new personal best at 4:32.88.

Jamie Hamlin led the squad in the invitational section of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a personal best of 10:21.79 to place fifth and move up to third in Oregon State history. Running unattached, Delaney Ulrich placed eighth with a time of 10:47.26. Sage Brooks rounded out the squad with a time of 10:57.89.

Delaney Griffin and Molly Latincsics wrapped day one with the 10,000 meters. In her first time running this race, Griffin finished in 34:38.28 for second putting her at OSU #4 and Latincsics finshed in 35:24.35 for fourth.Â
