Beavers Move Into Fourth In NGI Tournament

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Bradley Smolinski is tied for first after 36 holes and the Oregon State men's golf team surged into fourth with a 9-under as a team on the second day of the National Golf Invitational, held on Saturday.

Smolinski posted a 5-under 67 on the second day of action and has posted a 9-under 135 over the first 36 holes of the event. He birdied seven holes on Saturday, including five on the back nine.

Smolinski is tied with Utah State's Enrique Karg with 18 holes to play.

Every Beaver shot at or under par on the second day of action. Both Collin Hodgkinson and Stanley Lin finished with 2-under 70 rounds and are tied at 20^th with matching 144 tallies, at par over 36 holes. Hodgkinson tallied five birdies and Lin posted three on Saturday.

Rylan Johnson stands in a tie for 25^th with a 2-over 146 overall. He shot at par on Saturday and finished with four birdies.

The Beavers, as a team, are fourth and just one shot behind No. 3 West Virginia. The Invitational ends with 18 holes on Sunday.
