Beavers Top Redhawks
October 25, 2025 | Men's Soccer
Arnau Farnos netted his 11th goal of the season in the contest, bringing his career total to 24 goals – moving him into sole possession of seventh on the Beavers' all-time list.
Nico Nee opened the scoring within the first two minutes, netting the only goal of the first half. Andrew De Gannes found the net early in the second, shortly before Farnos scored the Oregon State third. Fran Cortijo notched his fifth goal of the season in the 74th, and Diego Rodriguez score his first goal as a Beaver to finish up the scoring.
OSU has now scored 10 goals in it's last two matches.
With the win, Oregon State moves to 8-3-2 on the year and 4-0-2 in WCC play. The Beavers also move into sole possession of first place in the conference with three league matches remaining, sitting on 14 points, one ahead of second-place San Diego.
The Beavers wasted little time opening the scoring, as Nee scored off assists from Tim Hoffman and De Gannes. Oregon State nearly added a second in the 18th minute, but Farnos' shot was saved from close range.
The teams traded blows through the latter phases of the opening frame. Oregon State had a set piece opportunity in the 35th minute, but could not find the final product to double the advantage. Paul Fecteau nearly found himself in on goal in the 40th, but the Redhawks reacted to eliminate the threat.
Farnos forced a save on a free kick in the final minute of the first half, as the Beavers headed to the break leading 1-0.
The Beavers immediately grabbed hold of the game in the second half, finding the net twice within the first four minutes of the period. De Gannes netted the first in the 47th minute on a nice interchange down the left wing. Farnos followed that up one minute later, getting behind the Redhawk defense off a ball over the top from goalkeeper John Nicolson.
Seattle U pulled one back in the 63rd minute, but Oregon State responded in the 76th when Cortijo curled one in from 19 yards out. The Redhawks netted a second in the 81st minute following a VAR review.
Rodriguez scored the first of his collegiate career on a brilliant individual effort within the final 10 minutes. Seattle U was able to net a third, but Oregon State held on for the two-goal win.
The Beavers will return home next Sunday to take on Santa Clara.
