
Beavers Announce Signing Class

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's soccer program and head coach Greg Dalby have announced their signing class for the 2024 season. The Beavers will add Luke Bryant, Sava Catlett, Gandhi Cruz, Paul Fecteau, Shugai Kaliisa, Aidan Marquez, Massimo Meneses, Pol Morlans, John Nicolson, Joseph Ogwang, Diego Rodriguez, Alejandro Silva and Sergi Solans for the upcoming season.
"Our staff has done a great job putting this recruiting class together," Dalby said. "This group will make an immediate and long-term impact on Oregon State Soccer. Each player brings a little something different, whether its experience, great promise, or a specific positional need. Most of all, the personality of the group fits our program in wanting to compete at the highest level of college soccer and work towards earning a degree. I can't wait for our fans to see them play!"
Luke Bryant – Midfielder – Clinton, Miss.
Bryant will join the Beavers for his final season of eligibility after spending the prior four years at Davidson. He has made a total of 33 starts for the Wildcats, including 15 last season, and has amassed five goals and six assists. Bryant found the net twice during the 2023 campaign, including netting the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at Duquesne.
Bryant helped Davidson to a record of 10-5-1 last season and its first appearance in an Atlantic-10 Semi Final.
Sava Catlett – Defender – Wasilla, Alaska
Sava Catlett joins the Beavers out of Shattuck St. Mary's School, where he started on the 06 team for three seasons. He qualified for MLS NEXT FLEX in 2022 and 2023 as well as MLS NEXT Playoffs in 2024. Catlett spent his freshman season at Colony High School.
A standout on the field and in the classroom, Catlett made the High School Honor Roll in 10th and 11th grade.
Gandhi Cruz – Goalkeeper – Aurora, Ill.
Cruz has made 47 starts in goal over the last three seasons, holding 10 clean sheets over that span. The Aurora, Ill. native earned All-Big East Third Team honors in 2021 and 2023, and led the conference in saves in 2022. Overall, Cruz has amassed 235 career saves, placing him among the top-10 active players in that category.
Cruz is a two-time Big East All-Academic selection.
Paul Fecteau – Forward – Bend, Ore.
Fecteau was a First Team All-Oregon selection at Summit High School, where he helped lead his squad to a 6A state title. He played his club soccer for Oregon Premier, winning a state championship with the team in 2022.
Fecteau comes from a soccer family, with two of his uncles playing professional soccer in the United States prior to the formation of Major League Soccer.
Shugai Kaliisa – Defender/Midfielder – Kampala, Uganda
Kaliisa has played for the Uganda Youth National Team at the U15, U17 and U20 levels, competing in both the African Cup of Nations and CECAFA. He helped lead his team to regional championships in Uganda, and guided his school win the National Schools Championship.
Off the field, Kaliisa enjoys swimming, listening to music and watching movies.
Aidan Marquez – Winger – Huntsville, Ala.
Marquez comes to the Beavers from Huntsville, Ala. He attended ASU Prep and played club soccer for Baca Residency Academy MLS Next. During his U17 year, Marquez scored 18 goals and recorded 11 assists. He helped guide his team to the Round of 16 in the MLS Next Cup, and to the top of the MLS Next Flex Group.
Marquez intends to major in business management, and enjoys traveling.
Massimo Meneses – Defender – Chicago, Ill.
Meneses joins the Beavers out of ASU Prep. He competed for the Barcelona Residency Academy, winning the Maryland Showcase. He was a regular starter and captain of his high school team.
Meneses is a member of the National Honors Society, and has been a representative in student government the last three years.
Pol Morlans – Defender – Barcelona, Spain
Morlans comes to the Beavers from Barcelona, where he played for Club Espotiu (CE) Europa B. He helped CE to three league championships in Europa B.
Outside of soccer, Morlans enjoys playing golf and other sports.
John Nicolson – Goalkeeper – San Mateo, Calif.
Nicolson attended San Mateo High School and played his club soccer for the De Anza Force where he helped his squad win the prestigious Surf Cup before moving to San Jose Earthquakes Academy. He spent his final year training full time with The Town FC, San Jose's MLS Next Pro affiliate.
Nicolson, who originally hails from Tonga, enjoys golf and taking pictures.
Joseph Ogwang – Defender – Lira, Uganda
Ogwang is a defender who has competed in both Uganda and Tanzania. He helped his club win the Cambiaso Tournament and East African School Tournament in Tanzania, as well as the Regional School Tournament in Uganda. He played his club soccer for KCCA FC.
Ogwang enjoys swimming and reading.
Diego Rodriguez – Midfielder – Torrance, Calif.
Rodriguez is a midfielder out of the LA Galaxy Academy and has seen time with LA Galaxy II. He has also played in El Salvador's youth system, taking part in multiple camp's as part of the nation's U20 squad. Rodriguez earned multiple call-ups with El Salvador's U13 and U15 teams, winning an international tournament in Portugal.
Rodriguez attended California Connections Academy, where he was selected as a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Alejandro Silva – Midfielder – Salt Lake City, Utah
Silva joins the Beavers as a senior out of Utah Valley, and was a two-time All-WAC First Team honoree. He led the Wolverines with five goals, and tallied four assists in 2023, and became the 11th player in program history to play 4,000 career minutes.
Overall, Silva has made 56 starts – every match he has played – and has 37 points on 10 goals and 17 assists.
Sergi Solans – Forward – Lleida, Spain
Solans joined the Beavers this Spring as a striker out of Spain and was one of the leading goal scorers in the spring season. He spent his youth career with stints at CF Peralada and Girona FC academies.
Off the field, Solans enjoys swimming and traveling. He spent four months studying in Ireland at the age of 15.
Oregon State is coming off its deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history, as the Beavers made the 2023 College Cup. OSU will open the 2024 season on Aug. 22 when UC Irvine visits Lorenz Field.
