Four Beavers Named All-American Scholars

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Carson Barry, Mateo Fuenmayor, Jackson Lake and Nolan Thoroughgood were all named All-American Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the honor, golfers must be a sophomore, junior or senior, maintain at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of their respective team's rounds. They must also maintain a stroke average of under 76.0.
All four were named to the Pac-12 Conference's Spring Academic Honor Roll in July.
Barry and Thoroughgood completed their Oregon State careers in 2022-23. Barry's 144 career rounds are tied for the second-best in Oregon State history. His 72.74 career average ranks 10th. Thoroughgood, meanwhile, competed in 115 rounds as a Beaver – tied for 18th-most – and he averaged 73.69 strokes per round in his career.
Fuenmayor has seen action in 82 rounds over three seasons with the Beavers, and is averaging 73.29 strokes per round. He posted a 73.25 mark in 2022-23, placing in the top 10 twice, including a win at the Duck Invitational.
Lake, meanwhile, averaged 73.11 strokes per round in 2022-23, and is at 72.84 for his career, which ranks 25th at OSU. He enters 2023-24 with six top-10 finishes and 118 total rounds played.
