CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men's golf's Carson Barry, Jackson Lake and Nolan Thoroughgood have all been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
The trio are now eligible to be named Academic All-Americans in the at large division. Those selections will be announced in June. To be eligible, student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's events and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes in their first-year at their respective institutions are not eligible.
Barry concluded his Oregon State career having played in 144 rounds, tied for second-most at Oregon State. He averaged 72.74 strokes per round, 11th-best all-time at OSU. Barry, a business administration major, posted 11 top-10 finishes as a Beaver, tied for fifth in the OSU record books.
Lake finished his fourth season at OSU this past year, averaging 73.11 shots per round. He tied for sixth at the Redhawk Invitational, and has six top-10 finishes. The economics major has averaged 72.84 shots per round during his career, good for 13th by a Beaver.
