Total Team Effort Opens Pac-12 Championships
May 13, 2023 | Women's Track & Field
WALNUT, Calif. – Oregon State Track and Field recorded a successful first day at the Pac-12 Championships with outstanding performances in both the day's prelims and finals.
OSU scored in both of the day's finals – the 10,000 meters and javelin – while also setting up scoring chances down the line in the 1,500 meters and 400-meter hurdles. The Beavs are tied with Oregon for sixth with five points after the first day of action.
"Today was the kind of day we had envisioned for this program when we signed on in 2017-2018," head coach Louie Quintana said. "We had our hand in so much of the meet today. You could see the impact our team is having all of the competition. From Anneke in the hepthathlon to Ella and Maryann making the final of the javelin to Adael getting to the final of the 400h and Kaylee in the 1500 and then to cap it off with Christina scoring in the 10K. Wow. A fun and balanced approach. I'm extremely proud of the coaches and our athletes for kicking off things right for this meet."
