Olguin Named Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – On the heels of upsetting the nation's third-ranked opponent, Matthew Olguin was tabbed as the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 3-2 decision by Olguin helped the 25th-ranked Beavers take down Stanford, 30-3, in the final dual of the 2022-23 season. Olguin's win by decision marked the highest-ranked win in his time as a Beaver and his first over Stanford's Shane Griffith.
A takedown in the bout's waning moments secured the upset for the Fresno, California, native to end the regular season on a high note. Olguin's honor marks the fourth time a Beaver has gotten the nod from the league.
Olguin and the rest of the Beavers will take part in this Sunday's Pac-12 Championships in Stanford, California.
