Beaver Jumpers Accumulate Top-Three Finishes at Arkansas
February 17, 2023 | Women's Track & Field
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  – Oregon State's three jumpers finished in the top-three of all three events they competed in on Friday at Arkansas.
Â
"We keep taking steps forward which is what we want to be doing this time of year," Oregon State sprints and jumps coach Pete Herber said. "We're really close to getting some bigger jumps so it was important to get these competitive reps. I'm excited to see what this group can do next week in Seattle."
Â
The Beavs got a pair of runner-up finishes from Anneke Moersdorf in the long jump and triple jump. The redshirt junior moved into second on the Oregon State all-time list with a 6.05m/19-10.25 leap in the long jump. She also neared her own school record in the triple jimp with a 12.37m/40-7.
Â
Emma Nelson recorded a third-place result in the high jump, passing the bar at 1.75m/5-8.75, just shy of her season high. Delaney Bahn, fresh off setting the school long jump record in Albuquerque, recorded a 4.81m/15-9.5 in the event.
Â
Up next, the Beavs will have one more chance to post national qualifying marks at the Ken Shannon Invite on Feb. 24-25 in Seattle.
