February 14, 2023 | Women's Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. – After posting the highest all-around score in the country for the second time this season with a 39.825 against California, Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey was named Pac-12 Co-Gymnast of the Week, taking home her fourth weekly award of the year and 13th of her career, as announced by the Pac-12 on Tuesday morning.
Carey took all four event titles against the Golden Bears, running her career total to 71 event titles and 15 all-around titles.
The Phoenix native ranks third in the all-around, leads the nation on vault, is third on floor, tied sixth on beam and 14th on bars.
Carey started her night against Cal with a 9.925 on vault, as she was the only gymnast to post a score above 9.900 at the meet.
The sophomore recorded her second-straight 9.975 on bars, receiving a 10.000 from the second judge.
The Beavs rank fifth overall as a team on beam, with Carey's 9.925 average leading the way. Her 9.950 against Cal is her third 9.950 of the year on the apparatus, as she searches for a 10.000 to become the 13th NCAA gymnast to complete the gym slam with a 10.000 on each event.
Carey closed the night with her third-straight 9.975 on floor, again with a 10.000 from the second judge, to bring Oregon State to a season-high 197.350 in the tie with the Golden Bears.
Carey and the Beavs close their homestand with Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12:30 p.m. PT inside Legendary Gill Coliseum.
