December 05, 2023 | Men's Soccer
CORVALLIS – A trio of Oregon State standouts have earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors, the association announced Tuesday. Javier Armas, Luis Castillo and Logan Farrington have all earned the honor.
Armas was an All-Pac-12 First Team selection this season, and an all-conference second team honoree in 2022. The Spaniard has started all 20 matches he has played this season, and has recorded a total of four assists. He has been an integral part of an Oregon State back-line that has posted seven shutouts this season.
Castillo is also an All-Pac-12 First Team selection, and becomes the first Oregon State goalkeeper to ever earn All-Region honors. The sophomore started 15 matches in goal, holding six clean sheets. He has made a total of 31 saves this campaign.
Farrington was named Pac-12 Player of the Year, and leads the conference in both goals and points this season. Heading into the College Cup Farrington is tied for second on Oregon State's single-season goals list and fourth on the Pac-12 season goals list.
Oregon State is in the midst of its deepest even NCAA Tournament run, and will compete in the College Cup for the first time in program history on Friday, when it faces Notre Dame in a semi-final matchup.
