Beavers Record Four New Top 10 Marks, Mitchell Breaks School Record
December 02, 2023 | Women's Track & Field
BOSTON – Kaylee Mitchell reset the standard once again, breaking her own school record in the 3,000 meters to compete an excellent start of the season with four Beavers posting new top-10 marks.
Â
"Heck of a start for the squad. Kaylee punched her ticket to nationals running a big school record 8:51 3k. It was awesome. Sage moved to #3 all time with a big 9:21! Kate was huge running 9:32 and Erika had a PR running 9:53. Really happy for the crew and excited for more this indoor season," said head coach Louie Quintana.
Â
Mitchell's 8:51.06 highlighted the day, but Sage Brooks (9:21.66) and Kate Laurent (9:32.62) each made their way into the top 10 at the no. 3 and no. 7 spots with personal bests.
Â
Abigail Pradere opened the day with a top-10 mark as well. The senior recorded a 4:49.16 in the mile, good for fifth all time at Oregon State. Freshman Maya Baechler made her college debut in the event with a 5:08.77.
