
Carey Takes Home Third-Straight Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Helping guide the Beavs to back-to-back scores of 197.275, Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey grabbed her third consecutive Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week honors and 12th of her career as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Carey added titles on vault, bars and beam on Friday against Rutgers and took home top honors on vault, beam and floor at UCLA to give her 63 event titles to this point of her sophomore year.
Her all-around score of 39.775 against the Bruins gave the Phoenix, Ariz. native her 14th career all-around title.
She currently ranks tied for second in the country in the all-around and is one of only three NCAA gymnasts with a 10.000 on vault thus far, leading the country with a 9.940 average on the apparatus after three weeks.
Carey was once again solid in her floor routine against UCLA, earning a 10.000 from one judge and a 9.95 from the other for her second-straight 9.975, after also earning the score at the Beaver Quad Meet. She ranks tied for second in the country with a 9.944 average thus far.
The Beavs rank fifth overall as a team on beam, with Carey's 9.915 average leading the way and ranking seventh overall, while her bars average of 9.895 puts her in the top 25 in all four events, holding strong at 22nd.
Carey and OSU travel to Seattle this weekend to take on No. 25 Washington on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks, before returning home for the annual Dam Cancer meet against Cal on Friday, Feb. 10th at 7 p.m. PT.
