Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth At Husky Invitational

BREMERTON, Wash. – Collin Hodgkinson finished in a tie for fifth in his first collegiate tournament and Carson Barry placed seventh to pace the Oregon State men's golf team to a sss-place finish at the Husky Invitational.
The tournament, held at the par-72, 7,159-yard Gold Mountain Olympic Course, served as the season opener for the Beavers. Oregon State, as a team, shot a 13-over 877 over 54 holes, one shy of No. 5 Long Beach State.
Hodgkinson ended his final day of action with a 1-under 71 to finish 2-under for the tournament. He tied for the tournament lead with 15 birdies, posting six on Tuesday, including four on the back nine.
Barry, meanwhile, posted his ninth career top-10 finish. He was one shot behind Hodgkinson, totaling a 1-under 215. He matched the freshman's final round Tuesday, shooting a 1-under 71, which included three birdies including an eagle on the par-5 14th hole.
Jackson Lake tallied two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 14th hole. He finished the day with a 3-over 75 and ended the tournament tied for 34th with an 8-over 224.
Rylan Johnson, in his first tournament with the Beavers, tallied a 10-over 226 over the 54 holes. He eagled the par-5 sixth hole and birdied three others. Johnson finished tied for 42nd.
Mateo Fuenmayor finished the season-opening tournament at 11-over 227 after ending the final 18 with a 5-over 77. He eagled the par-5 sixth hole and birdied two others. Fuenmayor finished the tournament tied for 45th.
The Beavers led all teams with four eagles. Oregon State also recorded 49 birdies, the second-most at the tournament.
In the individual tournament, Sean Kato led the OSU contingent finishing with a 2-under 211 to finish tied for seventh. He ended his trip to Bremerton with a 2-under 69 on the final day, which included five birdies. He totaled nine over the two days. He was followed by Alfred Raja and Nolan Thoroughgood, who each finished at 6-over 219 after each shooting a 73, 72 and 74. The duo tied for 17th.
Brody Marconi, who ended tied for 33rd, shot a 13-over 226 and Brandon Eyre finished 42nd with a 19-over 232.
