Men’s Golf Tied For Sixth In Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Carson Barry is tied for sixth to pace the Oregon State men's golf team after 36 holes Monday at the first day at the Duck Invitational.

The event, being held at the par-71, 6,995-yard Eugene Country Club, sees the Beavers tied for sixth as a team with San Jose State, posting a 17-over 285. The Duck Invitational concludes Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. PT with a shotgun start.

The Beavers rebounded from a 16-over 300 over the first 18 holes. OSU finished with a 1-over 285 in the second 18, led by Barry, who finished at 3-under 69. He ended the day at par after posting a 3-over 74 in the morning. He was among the individual leaders with seven birdies on the day, including five during the second round.

Barry was one of just 10 competitors – among 91 total – to finish at par or better.

Mateo Fuenmayor and Nolan Thoroughgood were both close behind in a tie for 24^th at 4-over 146. Fuenmayor had the biggest improvement among the seven OSU entrants, finishing eight strokes better in the second round, matching Barry's 3-under 69. He opened the day at 6-over 77. He'll head into Tuesday's action with a 4-over 146.

Thoroughgood, who is competing as an individual, improved by two strokes in the second round. He opened with a 3-per 74, but ended with a 1-over 72 to tally a 4-over 146 on the day. He ranks third among 21 individual competitors at the event.

Brandon Eyre is tied for 39^th after two rounds; he shot even on par 3 and par 5 holes. He improved by two strokes in the second round (2-over 73), and heads into the final day of action with a 6-over 148.

Carson Enright posted an 8-over 150 on the day and will head into Tuesday tied for 56^th. He is followed by Jackson Lake who is tied for 60^th at a 9-over 151. Brody Marconi, also playing as an individual, posted a 12-over 164.
