Grant Willits Earns No. 1 Seed At Pac-12 Championships

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State redshirt junior Grant Willits enters Sunday's Pac-12 Wrestling Championship as the No. 1 seed at 141 pounds, it was announced on Wednesday.
Willits is one of seven OSU wrestlers to be seeded either at No. 1 or No. 2, which earns them first-round byes on Sunday in Tempe, Ariz.
Brandon Kaylor (125 pounds), Devan Turner (133), Hunter Willits (157), Mateo Olmos (174), Trey Munoz (184) and Gary Traub (heavyweight) all earned No. 2 seeds.
Cory Crooks, at 149 pounds, is seeded fourth. He will open versus CSU Bakersfield's Josh Brown. The two did not square off during the regular season.
Matthew Olguin is seeded No. 4 at 165 pounds and he will take on Little Rock's Tyler Brennan to open on Sunday. Olguin defeated Brennan, 6-1, on Jan. 14 at Gill Coliseum.
Ryan Reyes is No. 3 at 197 and will take on Little Rock's Brooks Sacharczyk. Reyes was a 16-14 winner in their lone matchup on Jan. 14 in Gill Coliseum.
Both Turner and Grant Willits are two-time Pac-12 Champions and will be looking for their third titles Sunday. The Pac-12 Championships, hosted by Arizona State, open at 10 a.m. PT Sunday. The early rounds will be available via a live stream provided by the Sun Devils. The finals, which are slated to start at 6 p.m., will air on the Pac-12 Network.
