Beavers End Trip In Sixth At Hamptons Intercollegiate

EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. – The Oregon State men's golf team completed its second straight week on the road, finishing in sixth at the Hamptons Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

The Beavers took sixth at the 54-hole tournament, finishing at 52-over as a team. The event was held at the par-72, 6,676-yard Maidstone Golf Club, and all saw all but Virginia finished at 39-over or worse. Virginia won the event with a 4-over finish.

Mateo Fuenmayor topped the Oregon State contingent, finishing in a tie for 11th at 9-over 225. He ended his trip with a 3-over 75 on Tuesday, totaling three birdies in the round.

Carson Barry was one shot behind Fuenmayor at 10-over 226, placing him in 13th. Barry posted a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, ending it with four birdies, all coming on the front nine.

Sean Kato's score did not figure in the team tally as he competed as an individual. He posted a 3-over 75 on Tuesday to finish with a 16-over 232. He finished in a tie for 20th.

Rylan Johnson ended his trip three shots behind Kato at 19-over 235 after posting a 5-over 77 Tuesday. He also connected on three birdies over the final 18 to finish tied for 28th.

Jackson Lake and Collin Hodgkinson were close behind Johnson, finishing at 21-over and 23-over, respectively. Lake ended the trip tied for 33rd while Hodgkinson ended it tied for 38th.

Oregon State returns home to host the Oregon State Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Trysting Tree IN Corvallis.
