
Lu, Tibbits Named To PING All-Region West Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Shawn Lu and Spencer Tibbits were named to the Division I PING All-Region West Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Lu posted a scoring average of 71.55 and had a team-best four top-10 finishes this past season. His best finish was a tie for sixth place at the Duck Invitational and his best score was a 6-under 65 in the first round of the Thunderbird Collegiate.
A native of Honolulu, Hawai'i, Lu concluded his five-year Oregon State career with 129 rounds, nine top-10 finishes, including the individual title at the Hampton Intercollegiate in 2019, and 39 sub-par scores.
Tibbits led the Beavers with a scoring average of 71.41 and had three top-10 finishes, including a season-best tie for third place at the Duck Invitational. He carded 11 sub-par rounds, with eight in the 60's, and a career-best tying 6-under 66 in the second round of the NCAA Albuquerque Regional.
A native of Vancouver, Wash., Tibbits concluded his four-year Oregon State career with the second-best scoring average (71.61) and second-most top-10 finishes (14) in program history. He played 123 career rounds and shot 53 scores in red figures.
Lu was selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team and Tibbits was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, by a vote of the conference coaches on May 6.
Lu and Tibbits join Diego Velasquez, Alex Moore and David Fink as Oregon State golfers to be named to the Division I PING All-Region Teams.
