Women’s Golf Season Ends Due To Regional Cancellation
May 12, 2021 | Women's Golf
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Oregon State women's golf team had its season ended on Wednesday when the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional was canceled.
Â
A spokesperson for the NCAA addressed the coaches and student-athletes at the University Club of Baton Rouge on Wednesday morning: "This is one of the most gut-wrenching decisions and announcements that I've been a part of. Even though the course is playable, it's not playable at a championship level. Therefore, the top six seeds will advance along with the top three individuals."
Â
The Beavers were the No. 7 seed in the 18-team field.
Â
This is the second-straight year Oregon State had its season cut short after last season ended due to COVID-19. Mari Nishiura and Nicole Schroeder both returned for an extra season with the goal of helping the Beavers make it to the NCAA National Championships.

Our hearts go out to our super seniors, Mari and @nicole_schro who had their seasons cut short two years in a row from circumstances out of their control.
