Beaver midfielder takes honor
CORVALLIS – Oregon State midfielder Sofiane Djeffal has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Â
Djeffal scored the game-winning goal in the Beavers' 3-2 win over No. 5 Stanford on Saturday, as he returned to the starting lineup for the first time since leaving Oregon State's March 13 match due to injury. The junior had a massive impact on the match, putting in work both in the attack and in defense.
Â
The midfielder now has five goals this season, and 13 in his Beaver career. Djeffal was selected as Top Drawer Soccer's No. 15 Upperclassman in the nation last week.
Â
The Beavers will wrap up the regular season next weekend when they head to California for a matchup with San Diego State.
